Opening Hours

The Rathausgalerie presents exhibitions from March to November.

The Rathausgalerie is open:
Tuesday – Saturday, 1:00 –7:00 p.m.
Sunday, 11:00 a.m. –7:00 p.m.

Slower visiting hours are from Tuesday–Friday, 1:00–4:00 p.m.

The Rathausgalerie is closed during installation phases between exhibitions.

Visiting

Our multilingual visitor assistants provide on-site information about the exhibitions.

Texts are available in German, English, and plain language.

Accompanying programs and events are offered in German, English, and German Sign language. Information may be found under the heading “Events.”

Assistance dogs
Assistance dogs are permitted if they are appropriately marked.

Checkrooms
Luggage and large backpacks are not permitted.
A checkroom is located in the corridor in front of the Rathausgalerie.
We cannot accept liability for items in the checkroom.

Seating options
Various seating options are available on site.
Please ask at the reception desk if required.

Sanitary facilities
Toilets are located in the Prunkhof (ceremonial courtyard next to the Gallery).
Barrier-free toilets are located in the Prunkhof and in the corridor in front of the Rathausgalerie.

Admission

Admission to exhibitions and events is free of charge.
Individual programs with admission fees will be indicated accordingly.

Groups

Visiting an exhibition is not only possible as an individual visitor, but also as a group of up to 30 people.
Group registration is not necessary.
Please note that guided tours for external groups are not possible during events at the art space. However, you are welcome to take part in these events with your group.

Entrances

Main Entrance

The main entrance (4 steps) to the Rathausgalerie is located in the Prunkhof (ceremonial courtyard) of the New City Hall.
The ceremonial courtyard can be reached via the large entrance gate on the Marienplatz.

Second entrance
A second entrance (1 step) is located at the rear of the New City Hall on the Landschaftsstraße.

Barrier-free access
Barrier-free access is via the reception booth of the New City Hall opposite the fish fountain.

Directions
At the reception booth, please enter through the gate into the inner courtyards. At the end of the second courtyard take the first door on the left (electric door opener), then straight ahead up the ramp to the glass door at the end of the corridor (electric door opener).

Free access: Monday–Friday until 5:00 p.m.
Via reception booth: Monday–Friday after 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, Sunday, holidays. Please report to the reception booth, then the gate to the inner courtyards will be opened.
